Patrice Evra signs for Marseille
Former Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra has reportedly joined Marseille on a free transfer from Juventus.
The left-back had been linked with a whole host of European clubs this month with Crystal Palace previously emerging as favourites for his signature.
BBC Sport now confirms that the France international has opted to return to his homeland after more than a decade with Marseille.
Evra had only six months left on his previous Juventus deal, and there were suggestions he could return to one of his former clubs in Manchester United or AS Monaco.
However, neither offered him a playing role, and this tempted him to accept a challenge with Marseille who have progressed well since his takeover.
Evra has linked up with the French outfit on a Bosman after Juventus decided to mutually terminate the player's contract.
