Allegri not in running for Arsenal job?

Juventus boss Max Allegri has clarified that he has no agreement in place to replace manager Arsene Wenger at Arsenal next season.

The Italian coach was recently deemed to have settled terms over a summer move following the Gunners' 3-1 thumping at the hands of Liverpool, which heaped more pressure on Wenger.

Wenger currently has a two-year contract on the table to prolong his stay, but it is widely believed that he will snub the offer amid the hostile atmosphere around the club.

Following his side's 1-1 draw against Udinese in the Serie A, Allegri was asked about his alleged contact with the north London club, and for this, he represented a reticent mood.

"I repeat what I have already said before – it’s not true,” Allegri was quoted as saying to reporters, via Clubcall.

"The second thing, even if there was something in it, the first to know and learn my wish to leave would be Juventus… I’m contracted until 2018.

"I’m not the one to decide my future – Juventus will. It is they who decide because it’s the way I work and have worked previously.

"And if these rumours were true, Juventus would be the first to know and I haven’t talked to Juventus yet.”

Arsenal are currently two points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool, but with a game in hand, and they will have to come up with a renewed vigour, if they are to claim a Champions League place for the 21st consecutive season.
