Celtic win the Scottish Premiership

Scott Sinclair bagged a hat-trick as Celtic win the league

Celtic secured a sixth consecutive Scottish Premiership title on Sunday, as they cruised to a 5-0 victory over Hearts. The rest of the league have not been able to compete with the Glasgow giants, who confirm their victory with eight games still to play.

Former Premier League player Scott Sinclair scored a hat-trick in the tie to make it a day to celebrate for the travelling Celtic fans. It was always a matter of when not if Celtic would secure the title, as they have ruthlessly pushed aside any challengers this season.

With eight games to go in the Scottish Premiership, Celtic now have an unassailable twenty five point lead over second placed Aberdeen. Fierce rivals Rangers are a further ten points behind, after their return to the top tier of Scottish football has proven more difficult than they expected.

Celtic have dominated Scottish football, with this being their sixth consecutive Scottish Premiership victory. This season has been even more impressive however, with Brendan Rodgers' team still being unbeaten after playing thirty games.

When the celebrations are over, Rodgers' will now plan how he can make his Celtic team carry their dominance into a push for European success.
