Bad day at the office or sign of things to come?
After looking like they would brush aside anyone they faced and win the Premier League with ease. Chelsea were shocked on Saturday when they lost at home to Crystal Palace.
When Cesc Fabregas gave the hosts the lead at Stamford Bridge after just five minutes, it looked like business as usual for the Premier League leaders. Just four minutes later, the scores were level, as in form Wilfried Zaha scored for Palace. Things got even better for the visitors moments later, when great play again from Zaha gave Christian Benteke the opportunity to dink the ball casually over Thibaut Courtois.
Chelsea had 73 percent of the possession in this match and racked up twenty four efforts at goal. A combination of Chelsea's players not quite finding their best form and a solid defensive performance from Crystal Palace meant that despite the dominance, Chelsea could not find an equaliser.
This result was just the second home defeat of the season for Chelsea, as with Tottenham winning away at Burnley, the gap at the top of the table has been cut to seven points.
The lead that Chelsea have suggests that they will still easily win the league, however, if this defeat signals the start of a dip in form for the Blues, the chasing pack will be on hand to create a fascinating end to the Premier League season.
