Arsenal clear favourites to sign Lacazette?

Arsenal reportedly have a clear route to Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette with none of their English rivals interested in the striker's signature.

The France international has been heavily tipped for a Gunners move over the past few seasons, only for the club to fall short of Les Gones' asking price.

According to France Football, Arsene Wenger could finally land his compatriot in the coming transfer window with the player himself keen on a move abroad.

Lacazette has been in deadly form for Les Gones in recent years, and he looks set to have his best season to date - having netted 31 goals across all competitions.

In spite of having no competition domestically, the Gunners will still have a minor tussle with AC Milan and Atletico Madrid, who are both seeking to bolster their striking options in the summer.

Wenger, who is due to sign a new contract, has had a good connection with players from his home region, and this could play a key part in luring Lacazette from the clutches of their European rivals.
