Ibrahimovic's agent has confirmed that he will make a full recovery

When Zlatan Ibrahimovic's season was brought to an end in Manchester United's Europa League tie against Anderlecht, some feared that it would be the end of the thirty five year old's career. After undergoing surgery, his agent has confirmed that we have not seen the last of Zlatan.

When Ibrahimovic joined The Red Devils on a free transfer last summer, there were many critics who suggested that he would not be able to perform in the Premier League at this stage of his career. He spectacularly proved them wrong, leading United's goalscoring chart by some way, leaving the club desperate to extend his contract by another year.

That all came crashing down during the European tie at Old Trafford, ruling the Swedish superstar out until next year and suggesting that he won't appear in a Manchester United shirt again.

That may still be true, but Ibrahimovic has undergone surgery in the USA on his damaged knee ligaments, a procedure which went very well according to BBC Sport.

Whilst his client begins rehabilitation, Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola has confirmed that he "will make a full recovery" and that this was not a career threatening injury. Whether it be with Manchester United, or one of the several MLS sides interested in signing him, it is good news for football as a whole that Ibrahimovic will return to the game next year.
