Chelsea to discuss fresh deal with Courtois
Chelsea will seek to reward goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with a new bumper contract in order to starve off the remaining interest from Real Madrid.
The Belgium international has been in good form for the Blues this term, and has produced some fine saves throughout the campaign to keep his side within reach of their fifth Premier League title.
According to The Mail, the Blues are seemingly confident of keeping hold of their leading star with Los Blancos having identified David de Gea as their top target for the summer.
Nevertheless, the club are aware that the transfer strategies could change in a short span of time, and they will seek to offer Courtois with a fresh contract beyond 2019.
Courtois, who is currently on a weekly package of £120,000, could earn wages close to 200,000-a-week as the Blues plan to secure the long-term future of the Belgian shot-stopper.
The 24-year-old is on course to lift his second English title in two seasons with Chelsea holding a four-point lead over London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the league standings.
