PSG closing in on Pepe

Following advanced contract negotiations, Pepe's move to PSG will finally materialize.

The 34 year old Portuguese defender has only appeared 18 times this season for Los Blancos and Raphael Varane seems to have finally taken his place as Real Madrid's first choice centre-back.

Pepe is out of contract this summer and amidst the talks of him going to the Chinese Super League, PSG has stepped in and looked to have already finalize a deal for the veteran defender, according to the Sun.

Real Madrid have plenty of reinforcement at the back with Nacho being the breakout star of the backline. Top prospects Diego Llorente and Jesus Vallejo are also set to return from loan spells at Malaga and Frankfurt respectively.

Given he is 10-season veteran of the Santiago Bernabeu and two-time UEFA Champions League and La Liga winner, he could be a huge asset to a number of clubs and PSG will hope to pick up on that experience to further their progression in the Champions League next season.

Spanish radio Cadena SER has also reported that a move to PSG is very close and while they will not match the offer Chinese club Hebei China Fortune made to Pepe of €45 million over the duration of a 3 year contract, PSG will allow Pepe to continue playing at a high level in Europe and that could be enough to pry him to Paris.
