Prandelli does a double

Fiorentina boss Claudio Cesare Prandelli has bagged the Best Italian Manager of the year for the second consecutive year

The former Juventus mid-fielder has won the Golden Bench Award based on the votes of the fellow coaches.

He helped the club finish a respectful sixth position in the league last season despite having to battle a 15-point penalty as a result of the calciopoli match-fixing scandal. "I'm very satisfied. It's a reward for the team's effort to overcome the handicap," said the 50-year old.

He replaced legendary Dino Zoff to take the Fiorentina hot-seat in 2005/2006 and transformed the relegation strugglers into a team that could earn a Champions League spot.

Currently, Fiorentina are fourth in Serie A with 37 points from 21 games

Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini won the Silver Bench award, given to the best manager in the second division Serie B, for taking Italy's oldest club back to the top flight last season.

AS Roma boss Luciano Spalletti was awarded the Italian Player Association's Manager of the Year Award 2007.
