Paulinho headed to Germany?

Brazil international Paulinho could be set for a return to European football with Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti seemingly keen on his services.

The 28-year-old currently plys his trade for Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande for whom he joined from Tottenham Hotspur in 2015.

Paulinho has won two league titles, three domestic titles and the Asian Champions League at Guangzhou, and he now appears to be on the move after having made himself a regular in the national team.

The former Spurs man netted a brilliant hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Paraguay in the World Cup qualifier and this guaranteed his nation qualification to next year's showpiece in Russia.

According to The Sun, via Globoesporte, the box-to-box midfielder is on the verge of a Bundesliga switch with his agent due to meet with Bayern officials later in the week.

Adding to this, the player has also followed the club's Instagram page thus leading to suggestions that the deal could be finalised in the next couple of days.

Paulinho has been earmarked as a suitable replacement for the retiring Xabi Alonso although the two play in different positions on the pitch.
