Jose Mourinho was interested in bringing Bruma to Manchester United but he looks set to miss out on the midfielder after his agent confirmed a move to RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old Portuguese moved to Galatasaray from Sporting Lisbon at the age of just 18 for a considerably huge €10 million fee. A knee injury and a lack of consistency made it hard for Bruma to start regularly for the Turkish giants and he was loaned out twice from 2014 to 2016 to Gaziantepspor and Real Sociedad.

His return to the club proved to be successful this past season as the midfielder scored 11 goals and recorded eight assists in 36 appearances. This led to interest from clubs in Europe, most notably Manchester United.

Mourinho wanted to add pace to his midfield and saw Bruma as a perfect fit. However, the United manager looks set to miss out on Bruma after the midfielder's agent Catio Balde confirmed the player has agreed to move to German club, RB Leipzig.

Speaking in an interview with Turkish football site Fanatik, Balde said: "Galatasaray and Red Bull have reached an agreement. Bruma will play his last game for the club on Saturday. There are a few issues to sort out but he will join Leipzig."

Fanatik also reported that Bruma will move to the Bundesliga runners-up for a fee of €18 million and the player will earn €6.6 million per year before tax.
