Southampton after Thomas Tuchel?

Southampton are looking at the prospect of hiring former Borussia Dortmund Thomas Tuchel with Claude Puel seemingly on his way out of St.Mary's.

Tuchel was sacked by the German giants earlier in the week despite guiding the club to their first trophy in five separate seasons.

The German head coach is said to have had multiple issues regarding the handling of the club, and this eventually urged BvB to cut ties with the manager.

According to The Sun, Puel could be heading for a Saints' exit this summer with Saint-Etienne having begun talks over a potential return to Ligue 1.

As a result, the South Coast outfit are preparing for the worst with Tuchel - a former Arsenal target, among the frontrunners to take over the hot seat.

The former BvB boss managed to integrate well with young talents at Signal Iduna Park, and this is a quality which the Saints are said to prefer in their new head coach.
