Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly to be planning a renewed bid for Monaco hotshot Kylian Mbappe as he looks to lure him to the Emirates next summer.

The 67-year-old is currently positioned in the south of France where he is hoping to discuss a world-record £110m sum for Mbappe, The Mail reports.

Real Madrid and Manchester City are understood to have made a continuous effort to maintain their interest in the teenager, but Wenger is hoping to clinch his signature with the promise of making him the main man.

Mbappe is due to make a decision on his future following the friendlies against Sweden and England, and there is a suggestion that he could snub advances from the Bernabeu as he could be a regular on the substitutes' bench.

Nevertheless, the Gunners attempt to sign the Frenchman comes with a shock factor as the club rarely open their chequebooks to make expensive signings in the transfer market.

Ozil is, for now, the club's most expensive recruit after having arrived from Champions League holders Real Madrid for a £42.5m fee in 2013.
