Barcelona wrap up move for Lucas Lima

Barcelona has announced a free transfer move for Santos star Lucas Lima. The player will join the Nou Camp side in January 2018 once his deal with the Brazilian club Santos expires.

Prior to joining Santos in 2014, Lima played for Inter de Limeira and Internacional. The Marilla born attacking midfielder has always hinted that he would like to one day make a move to Europe.

The 26-year-old decided to make a move to Spain and will sign a four-year deal at Barcelona worth a reported 4 million euros per year, according to Football Espana.

Lucas Lima had been reportedly persuaded to make the move to La Liga by close friend Neymar, who has recently penned a new deal at Barcelona himself. Lima has played 14 times for Brazil.

In signing the midfielder, Barcelona has beaten the likes of Real Madrid, Monaco and Inter Milan to the player's coveted signature.

The player will arrive in Spain to link up with his new team-mates in mid-July for pre-season training.
