Fabio Borini to join Lazio from Sunderland

Italian striker Fabio Borini is on the cusp of a move back to his homeland. The Sunderland striker has agreed to terms with Serie A giants Lazio and will reportedly pen a four-year contract with the San Siro based club.
Borini has decided to make the move away from England after Sunderland's relegation last year and make a move to Italy where he hopes that he will become a first team regular for Lazio. Initially, it is expected Borini will act as an understudy to first choice forward Ciro Immobile and is likely to be deployed occasionally as a winger; a role that he often played for Sunderland whenever required.
Borini had enjoyed spells with Liverpool and Roma before his move to Sunderland. Last season was a particularly disappointing one for the forward, scoring just two goals in 24 games for the Black Cats.
Lazio are understood to have beaten Genoa, AC Milan, Sampdoria and Sassuolo to the signing of Borini.
