Manchester United are reportedly in the hunt to sign Santos midfielder Lucas Lima in the winter transfer window.

The 27-year-old has spent the past four seasons with Santos in his native Brazil, but he will be available on a free transfer when his contract expires in December.

Speaking to Turkish source Haberturk, agent Luccas Badia has confirmed that Manchester United are among a long list of clubs - including Barcelona and Inter Milan interested in his client.

Badia has also alleged that the likes of Crystal Palace and Fenerbahce lodged respective offers for Lima in the summer, but Santos decided against cashing in on the attacker.

"Inter, Roma and Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Lucas, Manchester United want him," he told Haberturk.

"I think we would be well suited to the Serie A but we will see. His contract ends on 31 December and there are many clubs interested but I am not sure what Santos is trying to do.

"Crystal Palace made a €15 million offer while Fenerbahce made a €20m bid but for some reason neither has been accepted."

Lima was believed to be keen on a reunion with Neymar at Barcelona, but the latter's move to Paris Saint-Germain seemingly pulled the plug on the deal.

The Brazil international is capable of featuring across the attack, and his versatility appears to have caught the attention of Jose Mourinho.
