Real Madrid plan move for Liverpool forward
Liverpool's Sadio Mane has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for European champions Real Madrid. The Senegal international has been a huge hit since joining the Reds from Southampton in the summer of 2016.
According to Diario Madrista, the La Liga holders have been monitoring the attacker's performance over the past year, and have been impressed by his qualities. It is added that they could weigh up a potential move for his services for the New Year, although they are likely to face competition from arch-rivals Barcelona.
Mane has amassed 16 goals in just 36 appearances for the Merseyside giants, including three in just four league outings this term. He is currently serving a three-match domestic ban following a rash high tackle on goalkeeper Ederson during the 5-0 thumping at the hands of Manchester City.
Liverpool were not interested in selling Coutinho at any price to Barcelona in the summer, and it could be a similar case with Mane in January with Klopp looking to compete for some silverware this season.
