Manchester United interested in £60m-rated Serie A defender

Manchester United are reportedly interested in securing a deal for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar. The Slovakian footballer has been in fine form for the Nerazzurri, who are presently vying for a top-four finish in the Serie A.

According to Calciomercato, the Nerazzurri are keen to ward off any interest in their centre-back, and they have supposedly placed a £60m price tag on his head.

Despite this, they still face the prospect of losing his services with United and European rivals Barcelona likely to tussle for the former Sampdoria man.

Skriniar has previously admitted that he is flattered by the Barcelona interest, but he is still prepared to remain with Luciano Spalletti's side with the chance to play Champions League football next term.

Jose Mourinho's men are well stocked with players, who can feature at the heart of the backline, but they are doubts over the futures of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling beyond the summer.
