Liverpool to reward promising defender with an improved contract

Liverpool are reportedly close to rewarding Trent Alexander-Arnold with an improved contract after impressive for the club during the ongoing campaign.
The teenager only signed a long-term deal with the Reds last summer, but his swift progress this term has urged the hierarchy to reward him once more.
Alexander-Arnold has had a couple of average performances against the likes of Manchester United and Crystal Palace, but barring this, he has been hugely influential from the right side of the defence.
The right-back had a strong showing against Manchester City during the double-legged quarter-final tie, but according to The Mirror, the decision of a salary boost had been decided prior to this.
Reds teammate Joe Gomez earned a national team spot with Gareth Southgate owing to his strong performances earlier in the campaign, and the 19-year-old is being backed for the same ahead of the summer World Cup in Russia.
