Spanish outfit plan lucrative offer to sign Ander Herrera
Athletic Bilbao are reportedly planning an attempt to re-sign midfielder Ander Herrera from Manchester United in the summer.
The Spain international has just 14 months left on his existing deal and this has seemingly caught the eye of his former club, who are aiming to take advantage of his situation.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Bilbao are prepared to make Herrera one of the highest earners at the club, should he turn his back on a new United contract.
Herrera spent three seasons with the Basque outfit where he made nearly 100 appearances before joining in 2015 for a reported fee of around £28m.
He has since been used in a rotation system at Old Trafford but has found regular gametime in the 4-3-3 formation which Jose Mourinho has utilised of late.
Herrera is likely to feature for Manchester United from the off when they entertain Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. United need another seven points from their remaining games to assure themselves of the runner-up spot.
