Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois eyeing free transfer to Real Madrid
Belgium international Thibaut Courtois has reportedly set his sights on joining Real Madrid when his contract with Chelsea expires at the end of next season.
The Blues have yet to resolve the Belgian's contract which concludes in June 2019 but the goalkeeper has previously assured that he would stay committed to the club.
According to Calciomercato, Courtois could run down his Blues contract next season in an attempt to return to Madrid where he has previously plyed his trade for Atletico.
As such, the Blues have a tricky situation to deal with ahead of the summer and they may have to decide on whether to cash in on their long-time number one.
Chelsea have a key league meeting against Liverpool this weekend and Courtois' performance could be crucial to their chances of beating the in-form outfit, which recently reached the Champions League final.
The Blues are currently six points behind third-placed Liverpool with a game in hand but they must secure a victory this weekend to stay alive in the top-four hunt.
