Cardiff City want West Bromwich Albion striker
West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon has reportedly emerged as the prime target for Cardiff City, who recently secured their promotion to the Premier League.
The Bluebirds sealed their top-flight promotion ahead of third-placed Fulham on Sunday and they now appear to have begun their search for potential options to bolster the attack.
According to The Mail, the Welsh outfit are weighing up an approach for Rondon, who has a £16.5m relegation clause on his contract with the Baggies. Darren Moore's side are yet to be demoted from the Premier League but regardless of this, Cardiff are planning an initial £12m bid for the Venezuelan footballer.
Rondon has just one year left on his existing Baggies deal and his performances have improved under caretaker boss Moore. A victory over Crystal Palace would witness West Brom finish on 34 points for the season and they are dependent on other results going their way to beat the drop.
