Blind on the move?

Manchester United defender Daley Blind has admitted that he could consider a potential move away from Old Trafford after being sparingly used by Jose Mourinho over the course of the 2017/18 season.

Blind started the campaign as the first-choice left-back and played the full 90 minutes of the first three Premier League games. However, he was thereafter benched for the likes of Ashley Young and Luke Shaw and managed only one more start throughout the season.

Despite this, his contract was prolonged until the end of the 2018/19 season via an extension clause in January but he has now hinted that he could pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere.

"We have to wait, but it seems logical that I wasn't satisfied with the second half of the season. So first I'll go on vacation and then put all the possibilities next to each other." he told De Telegraaf.

As things stand, AS Roma are deemed favourites to pursue the former Ajax man after failing with an approach for his services in January. The Giallorossi are also interested in prising away Matteo Darmian from Old Trafford with United keen on recruiting a new left-sided defender.
