Antoine Griezmann to turn down Barcelona move?
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has reportedly told his close friends that he is no longer interested in joining Barcelona. The former Manchester United target could now commit his future to Atleti on a fresh bumper deal.
Since the backend of last season, Griezmann has constantly been associated with the Catalan giants with reports suggesting that the Blaugrana could trigger £87m release clause in his contract.
However, Spanish outlet ABC now claims Griezmann may stay put in the Spanish capital with manager Diego Simeone having convinced him that Atleti can challenge for the league title next term.
It is added that Madrid giants are prepared to reward the Frenchman with a significant increase on his current deal to make him one of the highest-paid players in the world.
Griezmann is presently contracted to Atleti until the summer of 2021. He is currently with Les Bleus in preparation for the summer World Cup finals in Russia.
