West Bromwich Albion have reportedly made a formal bid to sign Bristol City attacker Bobby Reid in the current transfer window.

The 25-year-old has just a year left on his current deal at Ashton Gate and this has supposedly attracted interest from the Baggies.

According to Sky Sports News, the west Midlands side are eyeing a deal for the versatile attacker and they have already made an opening bid worth £7m.

Reid has been with the Robins since the start of his professional career but over the years, he has spent loan spells at Cheltenham Town, Oldham Athletic and Plymouth Argyle.

Last season, Reid experienced his best-ever scoring campaign with 19 goals in the second tier and this saw him named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

West Brom are expecting the exits of both Salomon Randon and Jay Rodriguez during the summer transfer window and they are likely to utilise the funds recouped to bolster the attack in their promotion quest.
