De Gea back on Los Blancos radar

Manchester United are reportedly bracing themselves for a fresh approach from Real Madrid for Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea.

The Spain international came on the cusp of joining the European champions in the summer of 2015 but the move was scuppered on deadline day after a delay in the transmission of paperwork.

De Gea has since been a key performer for the Red Devils after penning a fresh four-year contract but his future remains uncertain ahead of the summer World Cup.

According to Sky Sports News, the Champions League holders are planning to test United's resolve once more with De Gea's current deal due to expire in the summer of 2019.

Zinedine Zidane had been reluctant to replace Keylor Navas over the past few seasons but the departure of the Frenchman is likely to encourage the hierarchy to bring in a new world-class goalkeeper.

Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois and AS Roma's Alisson have also been linked with the Bernabeu outfit, though De Gea is understood to remain their prime summer target.
