Sergio Romero updates on his Manchester United future

Sergio Romero news

Romero committed to Manchester United and Jose Mourinho

Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has stressed that he is not considering an exit from Old Trafford this summer, unless the hierarchy force through his exit.

The Argentina international has been with the Mancunian giants since the summer of 2015 and during this period, he has played as the regular deputy to David de Gea.

As such, there has been the talk of him pursuing a fresh challenge elsewhere but Romero has now indicated his loyalty towards Jose Mourinho, who helped him earn a contract extension.

"I'm staying at Manchester United for now. [United manager] Mourinho worked hard for my renewal until 2022," Romero is quoted as saying by TyC Sports.

"I can't leave him now. If United wants to sell me, if they have an offer that is useful for the club, they will sell me. But I don't think that would happen."

Romero was expected to feature for Argentina at the summer World Cup finals in Russia but his failure to completely recover from a knee injury saw Jorge Sampaoli decide on his replacement.
