Liverpool to seal move for Thomas Strakosha
Liverpool are on the verge of agreeing a deal with Lazio for goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha. The 23-year-old shot-stopper has been earmarked as a long term replacement for Liverpool's struggling keeper duo.
After the Champions League Final failure of Loris Karius, Anfield manager Jurgen Klopp appears to be ready to move quickly to sign a replacement for the German keeper and Strakosha is his preferred replacement. The Albanian international arrived at Lazio in 2012 and has since forced his way into the first-team and is now the fully fledged first choice at the club.
Liverpool have also decided to part company with Belgian goalie Simon Mignolet and there remains uncertainty over the long-term future of Adam Bogdan at the club.
Strakosha, 23, was born in Athens, Greece but represented Albania's youth sides since 2012 and has now appeared four teams for Albania's national team side.
Last season was Strakosha's first as number 1 at Lazio, playing a total of 37 Serie A games. The keeper will join Liverpool in a deal worth 24 million euros.
