Napoli president delivers surprise update on Maurizio Sarri
Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has revealed that Chelsea are yet to make an approach to pursue Maurizio Sarri from their clutches this summer.
Sarri was dismissed from the head coach role at Napoli last month but so far, the club have not released him from his contract with Laurentiis seeking to bag a compensation from the Italian's suitors.
Speaking to Sky Sport 24, the 69-year-old stressed that the Blues are yet to make any sort of approach for Sarri and he is unsure whether the Italian will land the job with the west London giants, he said: "The call from London has not arrived. I do not know. Time will tell."
Chelsea are already facing the compulsion of negotiating a £9m package for Antonio Conte's release this month and they may have to pay a similar sum, if they are to sign Sarri from the Naples outfit.
