Arsenal left-back linked with La Liga return
Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal is reportedly attracting interest from Real Sociedad, who are keen to solidify the backline during the summer transfer window.
According to El Gol Digital, the La Liga outfit are looking into a deal for the former Malaga man with manager Asier Garitano not entirely pleased with the options on the left side of the defence.
It is added that the club are close to wrapping up the signature of Newcastle United's Mikel Merino and shortly after, they could begin negotiations for the 32-year-old defender.
Monreal has been linked with a Gunners exit over the past couple of seasons but each time, he has managed to ward off the speculation to impress in the club's shirt.
As such, it would come as a surprise if the Spaniard leaves the north London giants, though his contract situation remains in a tender position.
Monreal's current deal at the Emirates expires in the summer of 2019 and talks are yet to kickstart over a potential extension at the Capital outfit.
