The president of Napoli Aurelio Di Laurentiis has revealed that the Serie A side have made a loan offer for Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian.

The former Torino defender wants a move out of Old Trafford with Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan interested in the player.

The Nerazzurri reportedly also want him on loan but United are hoping to make the deal permanent.

Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, he said, Mirror Football reports: "We have asked Darmian on a loan with a right of redemption. We are on six profiles, there could also be Henrichs from Bayer.”

United signed Darmian from Torino in the summer of 2015 for a fee reported to be £12.7m.

After the move from Italy, he looked strong in right-back but has been left out of the starting line-up in recent time after failing to impress.

He made only eight Premier League appearances last season and featured twice in the FA Cup. He is currently with the United squad in their pre-season tour of the USA.
