Leicester City to sign Filip Benkovic
Leicester City are on the verge of completing a move for highly-rated Croatian centre-back Filip Benkovic from Dinamo Zagreb. The defender, who has represented his country at under-21 level, will sign a four year contract with the Foxes.
Should Leicester City complete a move for the 6 foot 4 defender, the deal will be a massive coup for the Foxes, who will have beaten Chelsea and Arsenal to sign the defender in a deal worth £13.75 million.
Benkovic, who played 25 league games last year scoring 4 goals, has yet to have appeared for Croatia's full national side but many in his homeland insist that is a formality and the player will soon be a regular for his country.
Benkovic made his debut in 2015 and had appeared 88 times in all competitions before making the move to the Premier League. It is understood that Leicester City are using the money redeemed from the transfer of Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City to bring in Benkovic and will conclude Leicester City's transfer business this summer.
