Arsenal confident of new Aaron Ramsey contract
Arsenal are reportedly confident of committing Aaron Ramsey to a new contract amid interest from the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Lazio.
The Welshman presently has less than a year left on his existing deal and this would permit him to discuss a pre-contract with a foreign club at the turn of the year.
Despite this, The Mirror claims that the Gunners are unperturbed by the situation and they are confident that the midfielder will eventually pen terms over a new long-term deal.
Ramsey is presently prepared to bide his time at the north London club and he is alleged to want a contract of around £250,000-a-week in order to commit his future.
Mesut Ozil is currently the Gunners' highest-paid recruit on £350,000-a-week and the German's package has supposedly urged Ramsey to demand a significant payrise after serving 10 years for the club.
Arsenal suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Manchester City during the season opener but they will be hoping for a better display against arch-rivals Chelsea this weekend.
