Jurgen Klopp reveals team and injury news ahead of Chelsea clash
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Simon Mignolet will start the Reds' Third Round League Cup clash against Chelsea on Wednesday.
The Belgian is yet to make a single appearance for the Reds this season, with Klopp preferring new arrival Alisson Becker.
After confirming that Mignolet will play, he refused to reveal any further team news, but said that he will field a good side.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the game, he said, according to Liverpool's official website: “Simon will start, all the rest you have to wait until tomorrow – but it will be a good team, believe me."
On the fitness of Virgil van Dijk, Klopp said that the Dutchman is much better but still in pain.
He said has not spoken to the former Southampton man, but will access him and make a decision.
The defender was taken off in the second half of Liverpool's last game against Southampton over the weekend after further injuring his existing rib problem.
