Turkish heavyweights Fenerbahce have reportedly earmarked former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as a potential managerial target amid their early season struggles.

Fenerbahce only appointed Phillip Cocu as their next head coach during the summer but they have since struggled in the Turkish top-flight with four defeats from their opening seven matches.

As such, the Istanbul outfit are said to be mulling over a change with Haberturk claiming that Wenger is among the top candidates under consideration for the managerial role.

Wenger, who ended his 22-year reign with Arsenal in May, has regularly maintained that he has not retired from the dugout and in recent months, he has been associated with several high-profile jobs across the world.

Fenerbahce are currently just 14th in the Turkish league after their poor start to the campaign but they did manage to return to winning ways with Spartak Trnava in the Europa League on Thursday night.
