Luke Shaw weighs up Man Utd options

Man Utd defender Luke Shaw is to open talks with the club regarding a new contract at Old Trafford and it is understood that his decision will not be impacted by Jose Mourinho's current struggles at United. Mourinho and Shaw have in recent times had a very public falling out.

Shaw, who has yet again emerged as first-choice left back under Mourinho at United, has not yet had discussions regarding an extension of his current deal at United but has informed the club's hierarchy that the desperate situation with manager Mourinho does not make a difference to his decision regarding he will stay or go.

Shaw has struggled with injury since his arrival from Southampton and many had expected the defender to leave Manchester when Jose Mourinho arrived.

However, a recent spell of good form has boosted Shaw's chances of England international recognition as well as regular first-team football for Jose Mourinho's side.

Shaw's deal at United expires in June of 2019 and several clubs are interested, including Premier League side Arsenal.
