West Ham, Besiktas and Marseille keen on Yacine Brahimi
Premier League side West Ham United are interested in signing Algerian winger Yacine Brahimi, according to Portuguese media outlet Record. However, they face competition from the likes of Besiktas, Marseille and Lazio.
FC Porto winger Brahimi is out of contract in the summer, so several clubs around Europe are considering the possibility of signing him for just £5million in the January transfer window. The reigning Liga NOS champions would be making a huge error should they let the 28-year-old leave for free next summer as he is currently at the peak of his career.
West Ham were reportedly interested a few months ago, but ended up landing other wingers such as Felipe Anderson. And now Lazio may make a move for Brahimi to be his replacement.
Turkish side Besiktas are also keeping tabs. Other Turkish teams in Istanbul, such as Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, have signed Algerians recently with the likes of Sofiane Feghouli and Islam Slimani now competing in the Super Lig.
Brahimi is a left winger with brilliant dribbling ability, and he already has four goals in all competitions this season. He most recently started for Algeria in their 1-0 loss away to Benin in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
