Liverpool to Launch €45m Bid on La Liga Star Forcing January Move

Liverpool are interested in making a move for Barcelona’s Malcom in the January transfer window, according to a report Calciomercato cited by TeamTalk.

The 21-year-old transferred from Bordeaux to La Liga in the summer, yet having only managed 25 minutes in all competitions thus far, has already grown frustrated with life at the Nou Camp.

His representatives are attempting to force a move away for the youngster and have since made contact with Inter Milan, who were thought to be interested in the summer but are now said to have moved on from the Brazilian.

The same can be said for Roma, who actually agreed a deal with Bordeaux for Malcom’s transfer, but Barca swooped in with a higher bid before the transfer could be completed.

With a move to Serie A seemingly off the agenda, it is reported to be a move to the Premier League that is favoured by Malcom, with Spurs, Liverpool and surprisingly Fulham the prime candidates for his signature.

With 12 goals in 38 appearances last season for Bordeaux, Malcom has all the attributes required to be a top talent; with pace in abundance, great with the ball at his feet and a fine finisher, he would certainly be a shrewd signing for Klopp.

While an explosive winger would be a fantastic signing for Liverpool, if they want to sign Malcom, there’s a catch:

Barcelona are preparing an ambitious move to bring Roberto Firmino to the club in 2019 and view him as the ideal replacement for the ageing Luis Suarez, with reports suggesting they could use Malcom as a bargaining chip to prise him away from Anfield.
