Anthony Martial speaks about his relationship with Jose Mourinho
Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has said that he has a 'player-manager' relationship with Jose Mourinho while dismissing any tense moments between them during the summer.
Martial was deemed to have been involved in a rift with the Portuguese head coach after the latter fined him two weeks' wages following his decision to miss part of pre-season for the birth of his second child.
The Frenchman has since been in-and-out of the starting lineup for United but he has now dismissed any rift with the club's head coach during the summer, he said: "Things were not tense between us to begin with. We have a player-coach relationship and I hope that we will continue like that."
Martial had gone through a lean patch where he failed to score a Premier League goal since January but he has managed to overcome the goalless run this month by scoring three goals in the space of just two matches.
The former Monaco graduate bagged a vital goal during the epic 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle United and he has since followed up by bagging a brace in the 2-2 draw against Chelsea.
