AC Milan are reportedly planning a surprise attempt to re-sign former Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Los Angeles Galaxy in January.

The Rossoneri have managed to jump to the fourth position in the standings after the midweek win over Genoa but there remains a concern with their attack front which has remained inconsistent.

According to Sky Italia, Rossoneri boss Gennaro Gattuso may seek a reunion with Ibrahimovic in January as the club seek to continue their push for Champions League football.

The veteran only joined LA Galaxy on a free transfer earlier in March but he has since been enjoyed good success with 22 goals and 10 assists from just 26 appearances in the MLS.

Ibrahimovic was a huge success for AC Milan between 2010 and 2012 where he contributed 56 goals while bagging one Serie A title which remains their last one before the Juventus dominance.

Aside from Milan, Manchester United were recently linked with a short-term loan move for the 37-year-old before Jose Mourinho dismissed the prospect of that happening.
