Barcelona plan fresh attempt to sign Chelsea attacker

Barcelona prepared to offer Malcom as a makeweight for Willian

Barcelona are reportedly prepared to make a renewed attempt to sign Chelsea winger Willian when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

The Catalan giants were hot on the trail of the Brazil international during the summer but the Blues were unwilling to sanction his sale amid the change of management.

Owing to this, the Blaugrana ended up signing Malcom from Bordeaux to strengthen the attack front but the youngster has failed to settle in with the team with just 25 minutes of action in the Spanish La Liga.

According to Spanish outlet La Sexta, the Spanish champions have not given up on recruiting Willian and they could be prepared to make a renewed approach when the transfer window reopens.

It is added that they are prepared to discuss a player-plus-cash deal involving Malcom for the Brazil international, given they would have to offload the former to free up one of the non-EU player positions.

Barcelona are currently holding a four-point advantage at the top of the La Liga standings after they secured a close 3-2 triumph over Rayo Vallecano on the road on Saturday.
