Liverpool defender set for La Liga return?

Spain international Alberto Moreno could reportedly part ways with Liverpool in the near future with former club Sevilla seemingly keen on his signature.

The left-sided defender has been with the Reds since the summer of 2014 and he has managed to accumulate 139 appearances for the side across all competitions.

Despite this, he has struggled for gametime this term with just three outings in all competitions and reports have indicated that Moreno won't be discussing a new deal.

According to Marca, Moreno could prefer a reunion with Sevilla when his contract with the Merseyside outfit expires at the end of the ongoing campaign.

Still, the Reds may prefer cashing in on the Spaniard at the turn of the year but the lack of senior options behind Andrew Robertson may tempt them to keep the left-back for the remainder of his contract.

Liverpool are currently third in the Premier League standings with 27 points, two behind league leaders Manchester City. In midweek, they suffered a shock 2-0 Champions League defeat at the hands of Red Star Belgrade.
