Chelsea set asking price for Cesc Fabregas
Chelsea are prepared to sanction the sale of Cesc Fabregas to AS Monaco, provided they match their asking price of £10.75m for the Spanish midfielder.
The 31-year-old waved a teary goodbye to the Blues fans following the 2-0 FA Cup triumph over Nottingham Forest and he has since been reported to have agreed personal terms with Monaco, who are currently managed by ex-Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry.
According to The Mirror, the Spaniard has already finalised a contract with the Principality outfit, although the club have yet to reach an agreement in terms of the transfer fees involved to push through a mid-season deal.
The Blues are said to demand around £10.75m for the services of the former Arsenal and Barcelona man but Monaco remain hopeful of negotiating a lesser sum, considering the midfielder's contract expires in the summer.
Fabregas joined the Blues from Barcelona during the summer of 2014 and during the past four-and-a-half seasons, he has helped them secure two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one League Cup.
