Suarez to Arsenal close to being done

Arsenal are reportedly close to reaching an agreement to sign midfielder Denis Suarez from Barcelona. The Spain international is likely to be pursued on an initial loan deal with the obligation to buy at the end of the season.

According to The Mirror, the north London side have been in constant discussions with the Blaugrana regarding the player's services and they may have now reached an agreement to sign him on loan.

It is added that the deal will include an obligatory buy clause of £18m which the Premier League side ought to trigger before the beginning of the 2019/20 season.

Aside from Suarez, the Capital outfit are also interested in securing the signature of Yannick Carrasco from Dalian Yifang but they are unlikely to afford to match his wages in any kind of deal.

The Belgian is currently on a package of £180,000-a-week with Yifang and the Gunners are reluctant to make an approach unless he is prepared to take a significant wage cut.
