Manchester United table contract offer for Spanish midfielder
Manchester United have reportedly decided to offer midfielder Juan Mata with a contract extension amid the interest from the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona.
The Spain international has made over 200 appearances for the Red Devils since joining them from Chelsea five years ago but his future remains a concern with his contract expiring in six months' time.
This has already attracted interest from Arsenal and Barcelona, who are seeking to sign him on a Bosman in the summer but ESPN claims that United will aim to prolong the midfielder's stay at the club.
It is added that the Mancunian giants are willing to offer him a year's extension with the option of an additional 12 months, should he continue to perform with consistency.
Any decision, however, could be made only during the summer, given Mata would want assurances of regular gametime from whoever becomes the permanent United boss at the end of the ongoing campaign.
