Naby Keita wants former Leipzig teammate at Liverpool
Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has urged former RB Leipzig teammate Timo Werner to make the switch to Anfield, should he decide on a fresh challenge during the summer.
The Germany international has just 16 months remaining on his existing deal with the Bundesliga side and he is likely to be sold in the summer unless he agrees to an extension in the near future.
Amidst this, Keita has spoken about his fondness of sharing the playing field with the marksman and has urged him to consider the Reds, should he make way from Leipzig.
"We played very well together in Leipzig and he was one of my best friends. It's clear that should he change, I'd ask Timo to come to Liverpool with us," he told Sport Bild.
Werner has enjoyed another good season with the Bundesliga side and he has netted 13 times in 24 appearances across all competitions. The German has previously cited that a move to Bayern Munich could be an option.
