Unai Emery reacts after Arsenal's shock defeat at BATE Borisov
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said that he has the trust in his players to overcome the 1-0 deficit to BATE Borisov during the second leg of the Europa League round of 32 stage.
The Gunners were expected to produce a dominant performance over their Belarusian counterparts on Thursday night but their showing was far from impressive as they eventually succumbed to a 1-0 loss.
Speaking after the game, Emery highlighted that the tie is far from over and he is confident that his players can turn things around during the return leg at the Emirates in seven days' time.
"I trust in our players and I trust in our stadium and supporters. There are two matches. Tonight's match is important but we can't (be knocked out), we are going to play a second match next week," he said via BBC Sport.
Meanwhile, when quizzed about the absence of Mesut Ozil, Emery was once more reluctant to explain the reason behind the same but stressed that he had picked the best team possible on the night.
