Chelsea plan contract discussions with Eden Hazard
Chelsea have reportedly planned to hold fresh contract discussions with Eden Hazard amid the renewed interest from Real Madrid in signing him.
The Belgium international will be entering the final year of his contract in the summer and this has recently spread the speculation that the Blues may sanction his sale.
However, according to Le10Sport, the west London giants are still hopeful of committing the Belgian to a fresh contract and they are preparing to hold negotiations over the same this month.
The Blues have recently been punished with a two-window transfer embargo after breaking rules pertaining to the handling of minor players from foreign nations.
Despite this, they have the chance to delay the ban beyond the summer with the expected appeal and this should allow them with the chance to complete the necessary transfer business.
Still, losing a player of Hazard's calibre would be a bitter blow but his stay could be entirely dependent on him signing a new contract before the end of the season.
