Pepe won't be sold on the cheap - Lopez

Lille president Gerard Lopez has hinted that the club are likely to demand around £69m for the proposed sale of Pepe during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal and Manchester United have both been linked with the Ivory Coast international this season but neither have yet to meet the French club's demands.

Speaking to Canal Plus, Lopez confirmed that the club had declined offers worth £43m for a few English clubs, he said: "In England, there are clubs. We will not sell for less, we have even refused a €50m bid."

He added that the Ligue 1 side have also received a bid of around £69m from an unnamed Chinese club but the player was not keen on the proposed move to the Far East.

Pepe has been in fantastic form for Lille during the campaign and he has contributed 16 goals and eight assists for the side, who are currently second in the standings and on course to return to next season's Champions League.
