Manolas back on United radar?

Manchester United could get the chance to sign Roma defender Kostas Manolas on a cut-price deal when the transfer window reopens in three months' time.

The Greece international has been linked with the Mancunian giants over the past years, but the club have not made a formal approach to sign him at any stage.

However, Calciomercato reports that United could make an official bid to pursue the centre-back in the summer, where he would be available for just £30.8m through a release clause written into his contract.

Roma are currently just outside of the top four positions in the Serie A and their failure to break into Champions League places is likely to tempt Manolas to part ways with the club.

Still, the defender is keen on plying his trade in the elite competition next term and United need to offer him assurances of the same to push through a summer agreement.

United are presently two points off the top four in the Premier League.
